Perspectives
by Susan de los Santos, CST Case Manager & Mental Health Counselor
Sitting at the base of a lush tree,
Its canopy gently falling down and over me.
The only movement from the breeze, allowing me to peek out to see the world beyond.
I am alone and isolated.
My thoughts weigh heavy in the air
Staring up and around at the beauty that surrounds me, I shift my perspective.
I am alone and connected.
Because in the silence and stillness I am aware of myself and all that I am a part of.
My thoughts now light, lift my spirit.
